2015 Year End Getaway

December 13-14, 2015
I have always wanted to go to Zambales because of the scenery and the idea of camping. I’ve been seeing lots of photos of people posing with the cove/scenery behind them and that has made me badly want to also visit the place and so, here we go. The last getaway before the year 2015 ends. Tada!

Asis and I, together with my sister and Andrei (his boyfriend), have planned this getaway a week before the date we were supposed to go. The original plan was we, four, were all set to go and had to contribute 1.5k-2k each for the whole trip, but since we all know there’s no perfect trip and that problems will eventually arise. We had to deal with the all too sudden (THE DAY ITSELF) changes of plans. So my parents decided to also go with us and gave a very short notice to tell us (while we were at work) their all too sudden change of heart when they had plenty of time to think about this trip. The problem was we were all set. The budget,, the car and gas, the food, the boatmen fee, and all. But oh well, one must prepare themselves for the inevitable headache.

Anyway, we were off to Zambales around 2am and arrived around 5am. We met with Mang Pedring, the boatman we contacted beforehand in the town hall of San Antonio. He guided us on our way to Pundaquit Bay. Pundaquit is the last stop for private vehicles. There are hotels around and also parking spaces for an overnight stay of your car while you are staying on another island or cove.

On our way to our first stop: Anawangin

I don’t know how long was the travel time to Anawangin. But please, feel free to enjoy the majestic view while waiting to reach your destination.

Anawangin Cove

We only stayed in Anawangin for about an hour or so. Just for the photo ops. There’s a lake and a view of the pine trees at the campsite but you have to pay for the entrance fee. We didn’t enter though. So we couples went our own ways and walked along the shore. Took photos and all. There’s also a rock formation at the farther end of the shore where you can climb on. So yea.

A photo heavy post of my part 1 Zambales getaway.
